Articulation and simulation
The chassis mesh is about 12 MB. It loads once, then rigs itself into eight servo-driven legs.
| Startup | The octobot loads and rigs itself: eight legs, each a hip-yaw → shoulder-pitch → knee-pitch chain on the real servo axes, with every mesh bound to the link it is screwed to. |
| Joints 1 | Click a leg in the list or a joint in the scene to select it. The inspector shows that servo's type, hinge axis and sweep limit. The joint list streams live position and angle. |
| Solve 2 | Drag the target. That leg solves toward it in real time and the servo angles update live. |
| Gait Space | Pick a pattern and heading, then Walk to drive all eight legs. Stop restores the pose. Show rig bones reveals the skeleton inside the mesh. |
| Collision | Poses that would drive a link through the chassis, another link, or the floor are rejected. The leg holds its last safe pose and the offending links turn red. |
| Export | Downloads the rig and the current servo angles as JSON for the controller. |
| Camera | Drag to orbit, wheel to zoom, right-drag to pan. F re-frames the robot, P hides the panels. |
